The HP Officejet J4580 is one of Hewlett-Packard’s all-in- one inkjet printers. The J4580 prints, as well as scans, copies and faxes documents. The J4580 is a light-duty printer that is a good fit for home offices and small work groups in an office. If the J4580 starts experiencing difficulty feeding paper into itself or it feeds multiple pages at a time, resulting in paper jams, there are a couple steps to take to eliminate the issue.
Troubleshooting the Printer
- Wait until the printer has finished what it’s printing. Check the paper guides in the paper feed tray to ensure that are adjusted to the proper size of the paper.
- Turn the printer off and unplug it from the wall. Turn the printer around and remove the rear access panel.
- Wipe off the rollers in the back of the printer, utilizing the microfiber cloth and distilled water. Move the rollers around and make sure to clean the entire roller, not only one side of every roller. Wait at least 15 minutes for the rollers to dry, and then replace the rear panel.
- Remove any paper in the paper feeder. Lift up the cover on the paper feeder and clean the rollers with the microfiber cloth and distilled water. Hold up 15 minutes until the rollers have dried before shutting the feeder’s cover.
