How to install driver software for a Dell Inkjet printer

Before we start to install or re-install the printer driver software for any printer it is best to uninstall or remove the existing or pre-installed printer driver software. This is very important to uninstall the previously installed printer driver, if is not done so it will cause problems and will prevent the computer from communicating with the printer.

It is always recommended to update to the latest version of the drivers available for your printer as New Releases are designed to update features and to correct functionality.

Browse to Dell support Page

Enter your printer’s Service Tag to get a concise list of drivers for your specific product model

Click Submit to continue


Click “All-In-One Inkjet Printers”

Select your printer model (the model number of your printer is shown on the front of the printer)

Click “Drivers & downloads”

Select the desired Operating System from the drop-down menu

Click “Drivers for OS Deployment”

In the Drivers for OS Deployment section, click “Download File”

Click “Run”

Make sure the box next to Close this dialog box when download completes is unchecked

When the download completes, Click Allow, Run or Yes

Follow the prompts that appear to install the drivers or applications.
