How to Check Browser Settings

You are here:

Web browser software is used to view web pages on the Internet. How the pages display, what fonts and colors they use and how your browser application handles events such as downloading files, accepting cookies and running Java script is controlled by the browser settings. Browser settings are stored separately for different browser applications and are easily customized to meet your needs. Each browser application provides a dialog box where you can view and adjust several different categories of preferences with the click of a mouse.

Browser settings steps

Open the Firefox application.

Click the “Tools” menu (Windows users) or the Firefox menu (Macintosh Users) and select “Options” (Windows) or “Preferences” (Macintosh).

Click the buttons across the top of the dialog box to view or change the different browser settings.

Open the Safari application.

Click the “Edit” menu (Windows users) or the Safari menu (Macintosh Users) and select “Preferences.”

Click the buttons across the top of the dialog box to view or change the different browser settings.

Open the Internet Explorer application.

Click the “Tools” menu and select “Internet Options.”

Click the tabs across the top of the dialog box to view or change the different browser settings.
