If your Internet browser is functioning abnormally by shutting down or freezing up, you can fix it by restoring the settings. Restoring the Internet Explorer settings will repair corrupted files and missing registration information. You will then have to perform Windows updates, but the process should restore your Web browser to working condition.
- Open Internet Explorer.
- Click “Tools” on the menu bar and select “Internet Options.”
- Click the “Advanced” tab and click “Reset.” Place a check in the “Delete personal settings” box only if you want to delete your browser history.
- Click the “Reset” button once the Reset Internet Explorer Settings dialog box opens to confirm the changes. Reset the browser for the changes to take effect.
